Celebrating 19 Years of The Sino-French Student Exchange Programme

This year, we proudly celebrated the 19th anniversary of our Sino-French Student Exchange Programme in partnership with St. Jean College Pauillac in France. We extended our heartfelt gratitude to the Cazes Family for their generous support and partnership in making this exchange programme a remarkable reality. We reflected on another successful chapter filled with cultural exchange and meaningful connections.

In September, ten of our students embarked on an enriching two-week adventure to France. Our students led workshops in which they taught their French peers how to assemble electric cars using STEAM principles. This hands-on learning experience fostered collaboration and innovation among the students. Furthermore, they introduced local French students to aspects of Chinese culture, such as traditional paper cutting and the art of making paper fans. A highlight was their stunning Guzheng performance at a dinner organized by the Medoc Rotary Club, which resonated with the audience and showcased our rich cultural heritage. In the concluding days of their visit, they explored iconic landmarks in Paris, including the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe, and Notre-Dame Cathedral, immersing themselves in the city's historical and artistic beauty.

Upon returning to Hong Kong in October, the French teachers and students were welcomed with open arms. Their itinerary was packed with engaging activities that offered insights into our culture. They attended classes where they learned about Chinese calligraphy and participated in various cultural workshops. A highlight of their visit was participating in the Rummikub competition, where they teamed up with local students, fostering collaboration and friendly rivalry. In the afternoons, they explored the vibrant sights of Hong Kong, visiting landmarks such as Victoria Peak, the Tian Tan Buddha, Ocean Park, and the M+ Museum. These experiences not only enriched their understanding of our traditions but also allowed them to engage with the local community and appreciate the diversity of our culture.

The exchange programme has continually proven to be a transformative experience for all involved. It forged lasting friendships, deepened cultural understanding, and allowed students to appreciate the beauty of diversity. We extended our sincere thanks to the Cazes Family for their unwavering support and enthusiasm for our exchange programme. As we look ahead to the 20th anniversary, let us continue to celebrate the spirit of friendship, understanding, and cultural appreciation with pride and gratitude
