Reflections on the Oxford & Cambridge Academic Programme 2025: A Transformative Journey for Our Students
I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Global Youth Empowerment Initiative (GYEI) for the opportunity granted to two of our students to join the prestigious Oxford & Cambridge Academic Programme 2025 from 28 July to 8 August 2025. This program represented not only a remarkable educational experience but also a life-enriching journey that broadened horizons and fostered personal growth.
From the moment they arrived in London, the excitement was palpable. They quickly settled in, forming bonds with their peers and engaging in various activities. The thoughtfully designed schedule included visits to renowned museums such as the British Museum, the National Gallery, and the Ashmolean, along with excursions to historic sites like Blenheim Palace and King's College Chapel in Cambridge. These experiences provided our students with firsthand insights into the historical and architectural marvels of the UK.
Held at St Hilda’s College, the Oxford & Cambridge Academic Programme offered a unique blend of academic rigor and cultural immersion. Our students benefitted immensely from engaging lectures and workshops led by distinguished tutors across diverse fields, including British etiquette, creative writing, legal technology, artificial intelligence, and entrepreneurship. The guided project preparation sessions allowed them to showcase their newfound knowledge effectively.
The interactions with Oxford and Cambridge students, combined with the welcoming community at St Hilda’s, enabled our students to develop strong social bonds and cross-cultural understanding. They embraced new perspectives and learned valuable public speaking skills through the Oxford Entrepreneurship Project, while also enjoying traditional British customs like formal dinners and punting on the river. The joy and laughter shared during these events highlighted the importance of connection and community in their educational journey.
The program’s balance of study and exploration inspired confidence in facing future challenges. Our students returned each day with stories filled with enthusiasm and a desire to share what they had learned. Their growth was evident, and it was heartening to see them embrace challenges with vigor and curiosity. The programme not only equipped them with academic skills but also instilled a sense of global citizenship and cultural awareness.
We sincerely thanked the GYEI and the Oxbridge Academic Programmes Office team for their meticulous arrangements and dedicated mentorship. This opportunity has been transformative for our students, reinforcing the value of international exchange and lifelong learning. We look forward to sharing more about their journey as they continue to learn and grow.
